- Batu Kawan is an island located in the city of Seberang Perai, forming part of Penang. According to the 2010 Department of Statistics Malaysia, it has a population of 5,537.
- In the past, Batu Kawan was an agricultural village that produced sugar, coconut and rubber. At present day, the island is undergoing rapid development, transforming into residential, commercial and industrial areas.
